Brownbanded Roach

The Brownbanded cockroach body length is about 3/8 to ½ in. It is know as the smallest domestic roaches. The name comes from the pale brown bands alternating with darker brown bands. The Brownbanded roach has a bell shapes pattern with a translucent border on the pronotum (as so know as the head).

Habits

The Brownbanded roach is know to live in solitary or very small groups. This roach entirely depends on the human environment for its survival. Like most roaches they are most active at night. Eggs of this roach are dropped not carried around like the German roach.

Found Where?

This roach does not require as much moister as the German roach so it can survive in dryer areas. Because of this we can find this roach in offices, warehouse, storages, residential homes, schools, motorhomes, and public buildings. This species is known to hide in high locations like crown molding, shelves, closets and art frames.

Controlling the Problem!

To control the Brownbanded cockroaches, it is important to do a thorough inspection. This roach is found in places around the kitchen like pantries closets and furniture. Knowing this, it is important to service these areas with a residual product to kill the roaches on the way to and from its food source. Baits can also be used to attract this roach out of its hiding place.
